Samedi 13 juin, MetLife Stadium (New York) : Maroc 1-1 Brésil.

Vendredi 19 juin, Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, Boston) : Maroc 1-0 Écosse.

Mercredi 24 juin, Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta) : Maroc 4-2 Haïti.

Morocco reached the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup, held in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Under Mohamed Ouahbi, appointed in March to succeed Walid Regragui, the Atlas Lions played five matches without defeat before losing to France on July 9 near Boston. Here is their run match by match, with the scores, the scorers and the stadiums.

Before the tournament, two warm-up matches ended in a 1-1 draw with Norway and a 4-0 win over Madagascar. The draw put Morocco in Group C with Brazil, Scotland and Haiti, four years after reaching the semifinals in Qatar 2022, a first for an African and Arab country.

Saturday, June 13, MetLife Stadium (New York): Morocco 1-1 Brazil. Ismael Saibari opened the scoring with a lob from a Brahim Díaz pass, then Vinícius Júnior equalized with a powerful strike in the 32nd minute. A point earned against the five-time world champions.

Friday, June 19, Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, Boston): Morocco 1-0 Scotland. Saibari scored after 69 seconds, again from a Brahim Díaz pass: the fastest goal in Morocco's World Cup history. Scotland, back at the World Cup for the first time since 1998, did not put a single shot on target.

Wednesday, June 24, Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta): Morocco 4-2 Haiti. Haiti went ahead through an own goal by Yassine Bounou (10'). Achraf Hakimi equalized (39'), Wilder Isidor put Haiti back in front (43'), then Ismael Saibari levelled just before half-time (45'+1). In the second half, Soufiane Rahimi (78') and a fourth goal in the 89th minute won it for Morocco. With 7 points, Morocco finished second in Group C.

Night of June 29 to 30, Estadio BBVA (Monterrey, Mexico), round of 32: Morocco 1-1 Netherlands, 3-2 on penalties. Cody Gakpo scored for Ronald Koeman's Netherlands, Issa Diop for Morocco; after extra time, Ismael Saibari converted the decisive penalty.

Saturday, July 4, NRG Stadium (Houston), round of 16: Morocco 3-0 Canada. Canada created four clear chances in the first half without beating Yassine Bounou. After the break Azzedine Ounahi scored in the 49th and 82nd minutes, and Soufiane Rahimi added the third goal in stoppage time (90'+8).

Thursday, July 9, Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, Boston), quarterfinal: France 2-0 Morocco. In front of 63,811 spectators, Yassine Bounou saved a Kylian Mbappé penalty in the first half. Mbappé opened the scoring in the 59th minute, then set up Ousmane Dembélé for the second goal (66'). France had 54% of possession and 22 shots (8 on target), against 5 shots (1 on target) for Morocco.

In all, Morocco played six matches: three wins, two draws (one of them won on penalties), one defeat, 10 goals scored and 6 conceded. Ismael Saibari scored in all three group matches and took the penalty that knocked out the Netherlands; Azzedine Ounahi and Soufiane Rahimi scored twice each. The Atlas Lions went out one round earlier than in 2022, against the same team: in six matches between the two countries, France have won four, Morocco one on penalties (Hassan II Tournament, 1998), and one ended in a draw.

The Atlas Lions are now playing the 2027 AFCON qualifiers: next up, Niger in November.
