L'Institut du Monde Arabe (IMA) à Paris a décerné, mercredi 9 septembre, son Grand Prix du design 2026 à l'architecte marocaine Salima Naji, récompensée pour son Centre d'interprétation du patrimoine de Tiznit. Construit en terre crue, bois, tataoui et pierre au cœur des remparts historiques de la ville, le bâtiment marie techniques de construction ancestrales et architecture contemporaine.

Le jury a salué un travail qui « réactive les matériaux locaux et les techniques ancestrales à travers une architecture contemporaine », soulignant que « l'innovation peut venir de la compréhension de l'existant ». Cette 4e édition du prix, devenue un rendez-vous incontournable de la Paris Design Week, a réuni 26 projets finalistes, dont quatre autres portés par des créateurs marocains.

Installée à Tiznit depuis 2008, Salima Naji est architecte diplômée de Paris et docteure en anthropologie sociale, autrice notamment de « Architecture du bien commun, pour une éthique de la conservation » et déjà distinguée par la Grande médaille d'or de l'Académie d'architecture française. « Très émue » par cette récompense, elle y voit la reconnaissance de « 20 ans d'efforts » consacrés à la sauvegarde du patrimoine architectural marocain. L'exposition des œuvres finalistes reste visible à l'IMA jusqu'au 20 septembre.

منح معهد العالم العربي بباريس، يوم الأربعاء 9 شتنبر، جائزته الكبرى للتصميم لسنة 2026 للمعمارية المغربية سليمة الناجي، تكريما لمشروعها «مركز تأويل التراث بتيزنيت». وشُيّد المبنى بالطين المدكوك والخشب والتاطاوي والحجر داخل الأسوار التاريخية للمدينة، جامعا بين تقنيات البناء التقليدية والعمارة المعاصرة.

وأشادت لجنة التحكيم بعمل «يُعيد إحياء المواد المحلية والتقنيات الموروثة عبر عمارة معاصرة»، مؤكدة أن «الابتكار يمكن أن ينبع من فهم ما هو كائن أصلا». وشهدت هذه الدورة الرابعة من الجائزة، التي أصبحت موعدا أساسيا ضمن أسبوع باريس للتصميم، مشاركة 26 مشروعا في التصفيات النهائية، من بينها أربعة مشاريع أخرى لمبدعين مغاربة.

المستقرة بتيزنيت منذ 2008، سليمة الناجي معمارية تخرجت من باريس وحاصلة على دكتوراه في الأنثروبولوجيا الاجتماعية، وهي مؤلفة كتاب «عمارة الصالح العام، من أجل أخلاقيات للحفاظ»، وسبق أن تُوّجت بالميدالية الذهبية الكبرى للأكاديمية الفرنسية للعمارة. وعبّرت، وهي «متأثرة جدا» بالتتويج، عن اعتباره تقديرا لـ«20 سنة من الجهد» كرّستها لصون التراث المعماري المغربي. ويبقى معرض الأعمال المتأهلة للنهائي مفتوحا بمعهد العالم العربي إلى غاية 20 شتنبر.

The Institut du Monde Arabe (IMA) in Paris awarded its 2026 Design Grand Prix on Wednesday, September 9, to Moroccan architect Salima Naji, honored for her Tiznit Heritage Interpretation Center. Built with rammed earth, wood, tataoui, and stone within the city's historic ramparts, the building blends ancestral construction techniques with contemporary architecture.

The jury praised work that "reactivates local materials and ancestral techniques through contemporary architecture," noting that "innovation can come from understanding what is already there." Now in its 4th edition and a fixture of Paris Design Week, the prize drew 26 finalist projects this year, including four others led by Moroccan creators.

Based in Tiznit since 2008, Salima Naji holds an architecture degree from Paris and a doctorate in social anthropology, and is the author of "Architecture du bien commun, pour une éthique de la conservation." She has previously received the French Academy of Architecture's Grand Gold Medal. "Very moved" by the honor, she called it recognition of "20 years of effort" dedicated to preserving Morocco's architectural heritage. The finalists' exhibition remains open at the IMA through September 20.
